Lilith Vase

Regular price $150.00 $0.00 Unit price per

Hand built with a white stoneware clay, under glazed with black, and carved imagery of Lilith, a snake, and an owl. 11.5 inches tall x 10 inches wide

According to Jewish mythology, she was the original woman and original demon. Adam’s first wife, modeled from the same clay, and his equal. They argued about who wore the pants and she struck off to make a better life for herself.
In more modern days, she has become a symbol of feminism. She is defiant and refuses to submit. She may or may not have become Eve’s lover. But she is a badass and a reminder to know yourself, your worth, and not yield that power.

These vases were all a huge experiment and foray into a new type of pottery. They’re all a little imperfect (cosmetic cracks). But given their symbolism and the time that went into them, I’m going to sell them for $150 for each large sized vase and donate all $150 to charities that embody their figure’s characteristics. The sales for Lilith will go to Human Rights News Agency Iran for her embodiment of courage and equality.

Each item is microwave, dishwasher, and of course food safe! I do my best to use recycled materials in shipping to cut down on waste for the benefit of the planet!
